Steel Challenge Setup at the Turkey Shoot Tomorrow

Hello shooters, It’s been a busy week for me and I wanted to get this out earlier in the week but …… here it is.  The SJRGC is holding a Turkey Shoot tomorrow (Sunday) at the Rod & Gun Club. Registration starts at 9:30am. First shots at 10:00.  There will be Trap, Sporting Clays and possibly a Rifle Shoot as a part of this. I will be organizing a Steel Challenge setup as part of this shoot. It is open to anyone. Shooters can shoot in multiple disciplines if they wish. There will be squadding so that everyone can get a chance to Shoot everything.  There is also a Turkey dinner being served for supper if you wish. Check the Rod&Gun website for more details on that. The cost is $5 for each shooting discipline. C’Mon out and have some fun.  If you’re coming out; I’ll be there early to set up. Any help is always appreciated! You can text or call me if you like.  Rick Crane 709-765-8991

IPSC Match October 15th 2016 is Happening!

Hello shooters, There is a match scheduled for Saturday, Oct 15th.  The weather seems to be a little unfavourable to start the morning but then we should be in the clear. I have most of the stages done but not finalized.  The plan is for 6 stages.  As for the round count, I’d expect it to be 110 rounds as a safe bet. As always, first shot is planned for 10:00am with set up starting around 8:30am.  The more people available to help with set up is greatly appreciated. I’m also finalizing the schedule for the upcoming season so keep your eyes peeled for that. There will be a match in November but if you come out tomorrow you’ll get more early details. See you at the range! Rick Crane

You can review at your leisure to see how the National Rankings are calculated and the ranking of those shooters that have shot at the Nationals over the last three (3) years. Don’t forget that we have a scheduled Level 1 match on October 15th; more info to follow next week. Happy Thanksgiving! IPSC Nationals Update

What a day ! It has to be around 30 degrees here today and we have shot 1/2 of the required stages . We still have all day tomorrow left to shoot and then work the range all day Saturday. Exciting, but very challenging stages . Especially the one where we had to shoot through a 12 x 12 port lying on the ground in the prone position at 3 paper targets at 50 meters away…. Yep 50 meters , I am not sure who this “Mike” guy is but I don’t like him .. Lol. Here are a few pic’s of today’s events . Thanks , John   image image imageimageimage
